What an inspiring day! We started our day at Eaton where we learned about their various innovations including circuit breakers, smart home systems, and more. I found that Eaton’s innovations are very applicable to global engineering challenges, especially reliability and sustainability. Eaton focuses on modernization and improves electrical grids with more resilient grids and designs. I also found that their smart home invention where lights, heating, and other features of the home can be controlled virtually through an app. This is especially useful for elderly or disabled customers who struggle with movement.
We also visited Kunsthalle exhibits where we learned about technical aspects of the building design along with the creative inspirations for the exhibits. Creativity is a very important aspect in engineering and must be utilized to deliver unique and aesthetic solutions to different problems.
