CEZ’s approach to maintaining their energy needs as well as environmental needs showcases the balance needed by engineers. While they have to make sure that everyone in CR has the required energy they need to continue their daily lives, they also have to make sure to not impact the environment so much that people experience harm. Therefore, there push and pull between mining and adding to the environment makes a lot of sense for a company as big as theirs.
some environmental concerns that I have seen have mainly been the amount of medical product waste because we cannot reside med products on multiple patients. One thing engineers can do is figure out ways to reuse those materials in ways that aren’t direct patient needs. Hopefully with this approach we can limit the amount of waste created in medical settings.
