Started the day off with an early tram ride and walk to the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. We visited 4 laboratories total. First, I went into the presentation room on the matrix array dealing with molecular motors and there were 28 steps which I thought was crazy how much work and precision must be done in the process. The next room dealt with radiation of isotope labeling focused on biomarkers which was interesting. The other room was a greenhouse which was probably my favorite because it deals with how plants can be biosynthesized and used for pharmaceutical purposes. There are different ways to make the enzymes for example, synthesizing them from e.coli. The last room was with the molecular technology which I did not really understand but they seem interesting for those involved in chemical or biochemistry fields.
We also did a tour to the Prague Castle which is the official office of the President of Czech Republic in which I was surprised how open it was to the public. It was also nice to see the Neo-Baroque style of the buildings around. Then, in my free time in the afternoon I got caught up with some souvenir and grocery shopping for family.

Overall, it was a pretty good day. The IOCB was not something in particular that stood out because my engineering field focuses more on water chemistry while the building is dedicated to research in relation to the medical and pharmaceutical industry. But, the Prague Tour was great!
