Today we visited the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, and it was really interesting to learn about the different types of research being done there. One project that stood out to me focused on hair growth treatments and how products are studied in the early stages before reaching the market. I thought it was fascinating to see how much research and testing goes into something people might eventually use every day without thinking about the science behind it.

I also found the discussion about molecular changes used to improve drug delivery really interesting because it connected to concepts I learned in physical chemistry. It was cool seeing something from class applied in a real-world research setting and understanding how chemistry, biology, and engineering all overlap in pharmaceutical development. Visits like this have made me realize how important government-supported research institutions are for advancing technology and innovation over the long term.

During our afternoon off, Jana took us to a bakery and then around Prague Castle, which was beautiful to see in person. Afterwards, I spent some time shopping for souvenirs for my family. It honestly feels strange and sad that I am leaving tomorrow morning because these two weeks went by so quickly.
