We took a visit to the IOCB this morning. Here we saw four different research labs. My favorite was about molecular motors which can be used for data storage. The researchers walked us through their thought process and development of their work, and I think that use molecules to store data could have major advantages when thinking about the need to store and process data today.

After the IOCB, we had free time for the rest of the day. I went with a group to a nearby bakery where I had a delicious spread on bread with a kolache. It would be very dangerous if this bakery was near me in Pittsburgh. After that we took a quick tour of the Prague Castle. This is interesting because it’s not a traditional fairytale castle. It’s more like a village surrounded by a wall of buildings. After that we walked uphill more to the monastery where we saw the library halls and grounds. We continued up to Petrin Hill where we walked to the top of the mini Eiffel Tower. Suhaas was struggling to get up and almost needed a piggyback ride. The view from the tower was amazing. After that, we headed down and got dinner at Pizza Nuova, which did not disappoint. I think I could have demolished the all you can eat, but I just got one pizza. I went over to the festival at the river to wrap up the night. The program has gone by so fast, but I have two extra days to keep exploring before my plane leaves.
