Today started at around 3:00 this morning. I unfortunately had to take the earlier flight leaving at 6:50 am. But with this extra time I can reflect on my experience abroad. Overall it was an absolutely amazing experience. I loved the taste of both cultural visits as well as plant tours and lectures. My favorite cultural visit was probably the silver mines we explored in Kutná Hora. It was fun and goofy to walk around the small spaces underground with my friends but was also interesting to think how these mines were still holding strong enough for tours to come through. This is solely on the fact of the engineering like minds back when these were constructed. My favorite plant visit or lecture was Skoda. I have done one internship in manufacturing and start my second tomorrow. I’m very interesting in manufacturing and trying to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible. Skoda seems to have this down to a science. Each step takes around a minute and before you know it they have full cars at the end of the line ready to distribute to customers. I hope to take even a little of this experience to my internship this summer. In conclusion, I loved this trip, the experience I gained on it, and most importantly the friends I made there. Everyone got so close by the two weeks ending and it was hard to say goodbye.
