Out of everything we saw at the sustainable farm/winery and in Pienza, what stuck with me the most are the views. It may seem trivial given we had the pleasure of going on a private tour of the winery and exploring the town of Pienza, but these views were simply unlike anything I had ever seen. The way to the fields of the Italian countryside wind over mountains and valleys for as far as the eye can see is simply breathtaking. So different from the terrain of Florence that we’ve gotten accustomed to, every shade of green covered the fields up until the horizon. The site of the movie “Gladiator” in Pienza was possibly the best example of this.
