Today we visited IOCHB, the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. One thing that stood out to me was the amount of research they do and their new technologies. What I liked the most was that everyone was able to do research in their areas of interest rather than be told what research to do. They also had good communication with their peers which goes a long way in STEM fields. Even though a lot of the work was scientific, it still connected to engineering because engineers help design systems, equipment, and processes that make research possible. Then, we went to a bakery to try Czech pastries. After that, a few of us went to Lesser Town to see Prague’s Castle. It had a beautiful view and incredible architecture. Later, I had dinner and then hung out with my friends for the rest of the night. It was a good balance between learning and enjoying Prague itself.
