Today we visited Karlštejn Castle, which was one of the most interesting historical places I have seen in Prague. What stood out to me most was how they built such a massive structure on top of a hill during medieval times. It made me think about the engineering, planning, and labor required without modern technology. The castle also showed how architecture was designed for both protection and symbolism during that time period. The walk was long going up and down, so both times we stopped to get dorts (or any pastries they had). After that, we had lunch and catched up on any last minute souvenirs. Lastly, we had our last dinner together on a Dinner Cruise. Looking out the boats and recognizing all that I have seen in the past two weeks was strange. When we got here, I looked around but I couldn’t recognize anything, yet now I do. It’s crazy how in so little time Czech changed from being foreign to being familiar.
