During the egg tempera class, I was very excited to be back doing art again. Painting was one of my favorite hobbies growing up, but I felt like I’ve lost it since being in college. My time is mostly consumed by science, math, coding, etc. Although these are the most important parts of engineering studies, there is an aspect of creative expression that is not integrated enough. I believe having an artistic interest and background has benefitted me throughout my studies, when really engineering is about problem solving, which requires creativity and thinking outside of the box. Personally, I would not only enjoy the opportunity to return to my hobby, I think all students would benefit from tapping into the other side of engineering.
