One of my key takeaways from the fresco class was how much chemistry was involved in the whole process. Before we began painting, the instructor told us how the carbon was captured and transformed in frescos which I found to be very interesting. Another key takeaway I had was how little paint had to be applied to the fresco. I am so used to using a lot of paint and it was hard for me to not apply thick layers. My final key takeaway was the powder that was used to make the outline. I thought the process of poking holes in the outline and then putting powder through the holes was fascinating.
